What Happens to a Standard Panel in the Cold

Below roughly −10 to −20 °C, standard LC mixtures become viscous: response times stretch from milliseconds toward seconds, ghosting appears, and in extreme cold the panel may not switch at all until it warms up. Heat is slower to kill but just as real — contrast drops and polarizers age faster near +80 °C.

Operating vs Storage Temperature

Two ratings matter and they are not the same: storage temperature is survival with the display off; operating temperature is full performance with the display on. A module may store at −40 °C but only operate from −30 °C. Below the operating minimum, a heater strategy can bridge the gap — we supply such builds on request.
