Comparação da laminação: contraste sob sol, embaçamento, resistência a impactos, retrabalho e custo — com 17 modelos ópticos e 38 a ar já no catálogo.

Two Ways to Stack Glass: Air Gap vs Direct Bonding

Every touch-equipped display is a sandwich: LCD cell on the bottom, cover glass or touch sensor on top. The question is how the two layers meet.

Why the gap matters: at every air-to-glass interface, roughly 4% of light reflects (Fresnel loss at normal incidence). An air-bonded stack adds two extra interfaces — glass-to-air and air-to-cell — so ambient light bounces inside the module twice more before it reaches your eyes. That reflected light is exactly what washes out an outdoor display, no matter how bright the backlight is.

What Optical Bonding Buys You

What Air Bonding Buys You

Air bonding is not a compromise — for many products it is the correct engineering answer:

Our rule of thumb: indoor and cost-driven projects stay air-bonded; anything that faces sunlight, condensation or shock justifies optical bonding.

Bonded Modules Already in the Catalog — Zero NRE

You do not need a custom project to get factory bonding: of our 193 standard models, 55 ship bonded from the line — 17 with optical bonding and 38 with air bonding — and 35 models in total carry factory-bonded PCAP touch. Representative optical-bonded parts:

If your brightness target exceeds what a bonded catalog part delivers, the usual route is a high-brightness bare panel from our 23 models at 1000 cd/m² or more, with optical bonding added as an ODM step.

Bonding as an ODM Option — and How to Get a Quote

In an ODM engagement, bonding is one customization axis alongside outline shape, mechanical fit, driver board and brightness — the same project that opens tooling for a shaped glass typically also selects the bonding method. The anchors our ODM line works to: feasibility and NRE quotation within 2 business days of your inquiry; NRE for shaped or structurally modified projects typically USD 4,800–7,500; standard samples in 5–7 working days, EVT in 6–8 weeks for tooled projects; mass production in 18–25 working days with 96.5% on-time delivery; MOQ 500 pcs, with batches under 500 carrying a +15% premium so pilot runs of 100–300 units stay practical.

All of it happens inside our own plant in Zhaoqing (Guangdong) — 23,700 m² of floor area, a 72-engineer R&D team, and a quality system certified to IATF 16949:2016 including product design and ISO 13485:2016, so bonding processes run under the same design-controls discipline as the rest of the build. Process detail lives on our ODM process page; shape customization is covered in the custom shape guide and the application view sits on our custom ODM solutions page.
