TFT LCD FAQ — Sizes, Brightness, Temperature, Touch, MOQ & Lead Time | RONEN
Answers to the questions procurement engineers ask most before they qualify a TFT LCD supplier: size coverage, sunlight readability, wide-temperature rating, touch performance, capacity, certifications, quality, lead time, MOQ, pricing, drop-in replacements, standard range, warranty and export.
Do you reliably cover the full small-to-large TFT size range?
Yes. RONEN's standard catalog lists 190+ TFT LCD models from 0.96 to 21.5 inch, spanning IPS, TN, round, bar and square form factors. The range is produced continuously rather than project-by-project, so steady supply is the default, not the exception.
Total capacity: 35,308,420 pcs/year (LCD + CTP combined) from our own line — enough headroom to hold both volume and lead-time commitments across the full size range.
See the full list on the products page, or jump to small TFT / industrial TFT.
Are the modules sunlight readable?
Yes. RONEN offers a high-brightness line up to 1500 nits (23 standard models ≥1000 cd/m²) with optional optical bonding and transflective solutions that keep the image legible under direct sunlight. For outdoor HMI, pair high brightness with a bonded cover lens and anti-glare treatment.
Browse sunlight-readable displays or tell us your ambient-lux target on the contact page.
Do wide-temperature modules really operate -30°C to +85°C?
Yes. 33 standard models are rated for -30°C operation (storage down to -40°C, with the extended range qualified to +85°C / -40~+90°C on request). Each lot ships with temperature-cycle verification, and a third-party high-low temperature cycling report (≥500 cycles, -40~+90°C) is available on request.
See the wide-temperature display line.
Are they durable and high quality?
Cover-glass options reach 7H on the Mohs scale (≈9H by pencil-hardness test), and modules are built for industrial duty: 1.5 m drop test / IK08 impact rating on the covered versions. Every unit passes incoming and outgoing inspection against the spec sheet.
Is the touch responsive?
Our PCAP line (35 standard models) supports 10-point multi-touch, glove and wet-hand operation, with ≥100 Hz sampling rate. Controllers are selected for industrial EMI environments and can be tuned for the thickness / cover-lens stack-up.
How large is your production capacity?
RONEN runs its own factory in Guangdong (Guangdong) with 23,700 m² floor area and an annual capacity of 35,308,420 pieces/year (LCD + CTP combined). This owned capacity is what lets us hold both volume and lead-time commitments.
Are you certified and compliant?
Yes. RONEN holds four certified management systems covering the design, manufacture and sales of LCD modules:
| Standard | Certificate No. | Issued by | Valid to |
|---|---|---|---|
| ISO 9001:2015 | 12 100 65070 TMS | TÜV SÜD | 2028-12-01 |
| IATF 16949:2016 (incl. product design, Ch. 8.3) | 12 111 65070 TMS / IATF 0590501 | TÜV SÜD | 2028-12-01 |
| ISO 13485:2016 (medical device QMS) | 1862024Y0006R0M | Beijing Kun Biao (BRZ) | 2027-04-15 |
| ISO 14001:2015 | 15724E20314R0M | CNAS C157-M body | 2027-10-21 |
RoHS and REACH material compliance is available for every model — we supply the test report for the exact part number you order. CE is declared by the manufacturer of the finished product, not by a bare display module: we provide the EMC and electrical-safety test data your integrator needs for its own CE declaration, rather than claiming a certification that does not exist at module level. The IATF 16949 certification — with product-design scope — supports automotive programs, and ISO 13485 supports medical-device display projects.
Is quality stable?
Outgoing defect rate is controlled to ≤80 PPM, with a 12-month average yield of 98.2%. We run SPC on key processes and feed yield back into incoming-quality and process controls.
How fast can you deliver?
Typical prototype / sampling cycle is 5–7 working days and mass-production lead time is 18–25 working days, with an on-time delivery (OTD) rate of 96.5%. Expedited sampling is available for NPI programs.
Is the MOQ low?
MOQ is 0 pcs for all 190+ standard models — they are held in permanent stock, so you can order exactly the quantity your build needs. Custom / ODM builds carry an engineering MOQ quoted case by case (typically 10–500 pcs). Tell us your volume and we'll quote.
Are prices competitive?
As a direct supplier we quote ex-works. Example: a 7" 800×480 TFT (TN/IPS, LVDS) at FOB Shenzhen:
| Volume | Unit price (FOB Shenzhen) |
|---|---|
| ≥5,000 pcs | USD 7.80 |
| 1,000–4,999 pcs | USD 8.30 |
| 10,000+ pcs | request a quote |
Share your BOM and target volume for a firm quote; an annual-volume rebate applies on multi-year framework agreements.
Can you replace brand-name panels?
Yes. RONEN provides pin-to-pin compatible drop-in replacements for selected legacy Mitsubishi / Innolux panels. Electrical deviation is held within: supply voltage ±5%, brightness ±10%, contrast ±15%, signal timing ±3%. This is handled under our custom / ODM flow.
Can you stock and develop?
Yes. Our 72-engineer R&D team takes requirements from concept to EVT; for shaped / odd-form displays the concept-to-EVT cycle is 6–8 weeks with NRE from USD 4,800–7,500 depending on structural complexity. FPC, backlight, cover-lens, bonding and interface are all customizable.
What about warranty and after-sales?
Standard warranty is 12 months. Annual RMA return rate is kept ≤0.75%, and a failure-analysis (FA) report is delivered within 5–7 working days of receipt. We support your field returns with root-cause analysis, not just replacements.
Are you easy to work with on export and logistics?
RONEN exports 62% of output, supports RoHS / REACH material compliance per model, and ships to major markets (North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific) under common Incoterms — FOB Shenzhen, CIF and DAP. Documentation, label and packing lists follow your template.
What display interfaces do your TFT modules support?
RONEN's 190+ model catalog spans the common industrial interfaces: RGB, LVDS, MIPI-DSI, SPI and 8080/6800 MCU (parallel). The exact interface for each model is listed on its product page, so you can match it to your controller without guessing.
If your board needs a different signaling or an adapter, our ODM team can re-layout the FPC or supply a bridge board — see the standard in-stock modules page.
Browse the full list on the products page.
How do you handle long-term supply and end-of-life (EOL)?
The 190+ standard models are produced continuously rather than project-by-project, backed by our own 35.3M pcs/year capacity, so steady multi-year supply is the default. For automotive and medical programs this is reinforced by IATF 16949 (incl. product design, Ch. 8.3) and ISO 13485 certifications.
We operate a PCN / EOL notification process and support last-time-buy planning. Request the formal obsolescence and long-term-supply policy for your program on the contact page.
Do you provide datasheets, drawings, 3D models and evaluation kits?
Yes. For every standard model in our 190+ model catalog we publish a downloadable datasheet that includes the mechanical outline drawing; the 3D STEP model and evaluation / demo boards are available on request. Send us your P/N and our engineering team provides them, typically within the 5–7 day sampling window.
For hands-on validation we ship evaluation / demo boards (TFT + driver, plus touch where applicable) and bare modules for sampling. The prototype / sampling cycle is 5–7 working days, and small batches (<500 pcs) are supported for bridge builds.
Browse the full list on the products page and tell us the P/N you are evaluating.
Do you provide samples, and what is your sample policy?
Yes. We sample every standard model in our 190+ model catalog. Standard catalog parts are available as samples, typically at a nominal charge (often free for qualified projects), with the prototype / sampling cycle in 5–7 working days. Custom / ODM parts are sampled under the development NRE and timeline on the standard in-stock modules page.
Each standard sample ships with the full package — datasheet (including the mechanical outline drawing); the 3D STEP model is available on request — so your mechanical and firmware teams can begin layout before mass production. Small bridge builds (<500 pcs) are supported if you need volume between sample and MP.
Tell us the P/N, quantity and destination on the contact page, and we'll arrange the sample and quote any applicable sample or freight cost.
