Custom Cable & Connector Solutions for TFT Modules
The connection from panel to host is where many integration projects stall on a mismatched connector or a tail that will not route. Custom cable and connector work covers the FPC tail itself — length, shape, connector and pinout — and the adapter or harness that bridges any gap to your host. This page covers what is customisable and when a converter board is also needed.
What Can Be Customised
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| FPC tail | Length, shape and routing to fit your enclosure |
| Connector & pinout | Match your host end directly |
| Adapter / harness | Passive bridge for connector or pinout mismatch |
| Conversion board | Interface translation where host and panel differ |
Passive vs Active
If the host and panel speak the same native interface but the connector or pinout differs, a passive adapter or harness is enough — no firmware, no init code. If the interface itself differs (an RGB host driving an LVDS panel, for example), a converter board is needed; that is a separate guide. The rule: change the connector with a cable, change the language with a board.
Send the Mechanical Drawing
The FPC can be reshaped within the panel's mechanical limits to route into your layout. Send the enclosure mechanical drawing (or a sketch of the route) and we will propose the FPC form and the connector that mates with your host.
Matching Standard Panels
Cable and connector customisation applies across the catalog. These standard modules are frequent subjects:

Frequently Asked Questions
What can be customised on the cable side?
The FPC tail length and shape, the connector type and pinout at the host end, and the provision of an adapter or conversion board where the host interface differs from the panel's native one.
Do I need a board if only the cable differs?
If the host speaks the panel's native interface but the connector or pinout differs, a passive adapter or harness is enough — no firmware. If the interface itself differs (e.g. RGB host, LVDS panel), a converter board is needed; see our adapter-board guide.
Can the FPC be reshaped to fit my enclosure?
Within the panel's mechanical limits, yes — the tail can be re-routed or re-shaped so it mates with your layout. Send the enclosure mechanical drawing and we will propose the FPC form.
