Display Compliance & Certification Checklist
Before a purchase order lands, procurement and quality teams want the paperwork clear. This checklist lists the approvals typically requested for industrial display modules by market, and what to ask each supplier for.
| Market / use | Typical asks | What to request from the supplier |
|---|---|---|
| General industrial (EU) | CE — EMC (e.g. EN 55032/55035 class), RoHS, REACH | Declaration of Conformity, RoHS/REACH reports; note modules are components and final EMC is validated in your end device |
| General industrial (US) | FCC Part 15 (digital electronics) | Supplier test data where applicable; end-device verification is your responsibility |
| Automotive adjacent | AEC-Q qualified components, ISO 7637 transient immunity | Component qualification status, PPK/PPAP willingness, design for load-dump protection |
| Medical (system level) | IEC 60601-1 / 60601-1-2 applied at device level | Component construction data (no exposed metal, cleanability), materials declarations supporting your risk file |
| Railway | EN 50155 / EN 61373 / EN 45545-2 at equipment level | Wide-temperature specs, vibration-suited mounting, materials data for your fire assessment |
| Quality system | ISO 9001 manufacturer | ISO 9001:2015 certificate, sample approval workflow, outbound inspection reports |
RONEN DISPLAY ships under an ISO 9001:2015 certified quality system and provides RoHS/REACH declarations with shipments. Module-level certificates never replace certification of your finished device — plan end-product testing accordingly.
FAQ
Do LCD modules themselves need CE marking?
A passive display module is a component; CE obligations attach to the finished equipment. Responsible suppliers provide EMC-relevant construction data and support your end-device testing with modules-level test reports where available.
What is the difference between module and system certification?
Module certificates characterise the component under lab conditions. Your finished device adds enclosures, cables, power electronics and usage — regulators certify the system, so budget for end-device EMC and safety testing either way.
Which documents should I collect with every order?
At minimum: the datasheet revision you approved, RoHS/REACH declarations, the ISO 9001 certificate of the manufacturer, and outgoing inspection or sample-approval records. For regulated markets add the relevant test reports to your technical file.
