FAQ: Customization & ODM for TFT LCD Modules

Most industrial programmes need more than a catalog part. This page answers the common questions about what can be customized on a TFT module, how the ODM flow moves from spec to shipment, and what tooling is delivered.

What Can Be Changed

ChangeTypical scope
Cover glass & lensShape, coating (AG/AR), OCA bonding
Polarizer & filmsViewing angle, contrast
FPC & connectorTail length, pinout, mating connector
BacklightBrightness and dimming curve
Touch stackResistive or capacitive, with controller config

The ODM Flow

From a one-page input spec through schematic review, layout, firmware bring-up, sample build and a pilot run under a production fixture, then design freeze. The discipline is at the front: a complete input spec prevents most hardware re-spins later.

Tooling and Test

Adapter and conversion boards, driver boards and custom test jigs are developed alongside the product and delivered as part of the handover package, so the same test runs on your line or at a second source.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can be customized on a TFT module?

Common changes: the cover glass and lens (shape, coating, bonding), the polarizer and optical films (viewing angle, contrast), the FPC tail and connector, the backlight brightness, and the touch stack. The panel cell itself is changed only for true new-size projects.

What is the ODM flow?

From a one-page input spec (panel or required size/resolution, host interface, touch and backlight, supply rails, environment) through schematic review, layout, firmware bring-up, sample build and a pilot run under a production fixture, then design freeze. Discipline at the input spec prevents most hardware re-spins.

Do you build tooling and test jigs?

Yes. Adapter and conversion boards, driver boards, and custom test jigs are developed alongside the product and delivered as part of the handover package so you can run the same test on your own line.
