Display Cutout & Bezel Opening Calculator

How big should the opening in your enclosure bezel be? Enter the active area (AA) from your module drawing plus clearance per edge, and get the recommended cutout dimensions with tolerance guidance.

Enter values and press Calculate.
Estimated result only — please confirm with our engineers for final design.

Cutout = AA + 2 × clearance. Keep at least 1.5–3 mm clearance per edge so the bezel never shadows the active area and assembly tolerances cannot pinch the glass. Corner radii and FPC openings depend on the module drawing — send us your enclosure for a fit check.

FAQ

How much clearance should I leave around the active area?

A common starting point is 1.5 to 3 mm per edge. Too little and bezel shadow or assembly tolerance clips visible pixels; too much and the display looks small in a large window. Structural engineers usually finalise this with the module outline drawing.

Does the cutout need corner radii?

Yes — sharp inner corners concentrate stress and crack glass during assembly or thermal cycling. Typical corner radii are 0.5 to 2 mm depending on the cover glass; follow the module or cover-lens drawing.

Where do I find the exact active area of a module?

In the module mechanical drawing (dimension sheet) — the active area is the defined display window, not the glass outline. Ask us for the drawing of any module you are designing in.
