Display Unit Converter

Quick converters engineers reach for when reading datasheets and laying out boards: pixels to millimetres, inches to millimetres, nits to foot-lamberts, mils to millimetres, DPI, and Celsius/Fahrenheit.

Pixels ↔ millimetres (needs DPI)

Convert a pixel pitch or dimension to physical size at a given dot density.

Estimated result only — please confirm with our engineers for final design.

Inches ↔ millimetres

1 inch = 25.4 mm.

Estimated result only — please confirm with our engineers for final design.

Nits ↔ foot-lamberts

1 fL ≈ 3.426 nits (cd/m²). Useful for aviation/legacy spec sheets.

Estimated result only — please confirm with our engineers for final design.

Mils ↔ millimetres

1 mil = 0.0254 mm. For FPC / flex thickness and trace width.

Estimated result only — please confirm with our engineers for final design.

DPI from size + pixels

Enter physical size (inch) and pixel count of one axis.

Estimated result only — please confirm with our engineers for final design.

Celsius ↔ Fahrenheit

Operating / storage temperature conversion.

Estimated result only — please confirm with our engineers for final design.

FAQ

Which DPI should I assume for a TFT panel?

TFT modules are usually specified by pixel pitch in mm (e.g. 0.0645 mm ≈ 394 DPI). Convert the pitch to DPI with the tool above rather than guessing from diagonal size, which includes bezel.

Why convert nits to foot-lamberts?

Older military/aerospace and some industrial specs still quote luminance in fL. The fixed ratio 1 fL = 3.426 cd/m² lets you compare directly with modern datasheets.

When should I use this display unit converter?

Use it whenever a datasheet mixes unit systems — for example an overseas panel quoting pitch in mm while your layout tool works in mils, or a luminance spec in fL next to a cd/m² target. It removes mental math and unit-confusion errors during component selection.
